Samsung Brings Galaxy AI Features to Its Mid-Range Galaxy A Series

Sep 27, 2026 · by Omeed · 38 reads 0 likes

Samsung is extending a trimmed-down version of its Galaxy AI suite — previously reserved for the premium S-series and Z-foldable lines — to the mid-range Galaxy A series, as part of the One UI 9 rollout reaching millions of Galaxy devices this September.

Branded "Awesome Intelligence" on the A-series, the feature set includes voice transcription, AI Select with drag-and-drop, Object Eraser and Best Face photo editing, read-aloud web pages, and a Perplexity-powered version of Bixby for real-time queries. Samsung says exactly which tools a given A-series phone gets will depend on its chipset and RAM, so the experience won't be identical across the lineup.

The move follows an unexplained delay in bringing One UI 9 to Galaxy phones generally, and reflects a broader industry pattern of phone makers pushing flagship AI features down into cheaper hardware to keep mid-range devices competitive as on-device AI becomes a standard buying consideration rather than a premium perk.
